Hainan Airlines Tops Global On-Time Performance Rankings in September. Chinese carrier Hainan Airlines earned the top spot in the global flight punctuality rankings for September 2026, achieving a 92.71% on-time arrival rate across its scheduled network, according to data published in the latest On-Time Performance Report. During the monthly evaluation period, the Asian airline completed 20,641 commercial flights, leading all major international passenger operators analyzed across key global markets.

The overall podium for flight schedule reliability was rounded out by Aeromexico and Singapore Airlines. The Mexican flag carrier secured the second position worldwide after recording an 89.67% on-time performance rate across 13,586 completed flights. Meanwhile, Singapore Airlines captured third place overall, delivering an 87.33% on-time arrival rate throughout its international long-haul and regional route network.
South Korean legacy operator Korean Air finished in fourth place globally with an 86.01% punctuality score. Spanish airline Iberia followed in fifth position, posting an 85.62% on-time rating across 16,448 scheduled flights. Canadian airline WestJet held sixth place with an 85.31% rating, while Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific took seventh spot with an 84.92% on-time completion rate. Scandinavian carrier SAS ranked eighth globally, logging an 84.68% punctuality score across 24,194 operated flights.

Rounding out the top ten global ranking, U.S. legacy carrier Delta Air Lines claimed ninth place with an 82.52% on-time performance rate. Delta stood out among all top-tier carriers by managing the largest flight volume evaluated in the report, successfully operating 149,522 flights during the month. Latin American airline group LATAM Airlines rounded out the top ten in tenth position, achieving an 81.58% on-time arrival record across 51,045 total flights. Overall, the industry report evaluated 324,509 flights worldwide, tracking 99.71% of all operations and establishing an aggregate global on-time average of 86.04%.
