JetBlue Expands in Colombia With New Cali Route U.S. carrier JetBlue has announced a new international route connecting Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) in Florida with Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport (CLO), which serves the city of Cali, Colombia. The announcement comes shortly after Spirit Airlines suspended its operations, leaving important gaps in the market between Colombia and the United States. As a result, JetBlue is aiming to strengthen its presence in Colombia while also capturing part of the passenger demand previously served by the ultra-low-cost carrier.

The new service will operate with seven weekly frequencies, equivalent to one daily flight, using Airbus A320 aircraft configured with 162 seats in a single-class layout. According to the airline’s schedule, flight B6 1856 will depart Fort Lauderdale at 10:00 a.m. and arrive in Cali at 12:50 p.m. Meanwhile, the return flight, B6 1843, will leave Cali at 1:55 p.m. and land back in South Florida at 6:50 p.m. With these schedules, JetBlue will provide passengers with a competitive and convenient travel option between Colombia and one of the most important gateways for the Colombian community in the United States.

Furthermore, the launch of this route will help maintain Cali’s international connectivity with South Florida, a market that continues to show strong demand for both leisure and visiting-friends-and-relatives traffic. JetBlue will also become the sole operator on the route, taking over the position previously held by Spirit Airlines. Through this expansion, the airline continues to reinforce its strategy in Latin America by focusing on high-demand markets and strengthening its international network from Fort Lauderdale.
