The program will award 30 full scholarships covering academic training as well as a social support component focused on the participants’ overall development. Applications will remain open until May 31, 2026, and interested candidates can review the requirements and apply through Avianca Jobs.  According to Paola Villota, Vice President of Human Management at Avianca, the initiative aims to create real opportunities for more Colombians regardless of their social or economic background.

Villota emphasized that opening pathways into the aviation industry not only transforms individual lives but also contributes to the country’s overall development and growth. The program will last a total of 18 months, including 12 months of theoretical instruction followed by six months of mandatory practical training within the airline. Classes are expected to begin during the second half of 2026 and will be offered in four Colombian cities: Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, and Barranquilla.

With this announcement, Avianca continues strengthening its diversity and inclusion strategy within the aviation sector, following the airline’s previous scholarship program aimed at training female commercial pilots. The company seeks to further consolidate a social impact policy focused on reducing inequalities and building a more representative and accessible aviation industry for everyone.
