The airline stated that deeper integration within the Lufthansa Group will create greater industrial and commercial synergies with the group’s other carriers while preserving ITA Airways’ Italian heritage. The company also highlighted Italy’s strategic importance within the European aviation landscape, noting that the country represents the third-largest economy in the European Union and one of Lufthansa Group’s most important international markets outside the United States and its home markets.
