Sunrise Airways strengthens Caribbean connectivity with new Antigua–Barbados route. Sunrise Airways has launched a new nonstop route between Antigua and Barbuda and Barbados, expanding its Caribbean network and enhancing connectivity between two of the region’s leading tourism markets.
The inaugural flight departed from V.C. Bird International Airport in Antigua and arrived at Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados after a flight of approximately one hour and 20 minutes. The route will now operate twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Sundays, providing greater travel options for tourists, business travelers, and local residents.

The launch was marked by an official ceremony in Barbados attended by government officials, tourism representatives, airport executives, and Sunrise Airways leadership. During the event, speakers highlighted the route’s role in supporting multi-destination tourism, strengthening trade, and improving regional integration. They also emphasized that increased air connectivity is essential for boosting economic development and meeting growing travel demand across the Caribbean.
