LATAM Cargo Colombia transported 36 tons of humanitarian aid free of charge, collected by the Luis Díaz Foundation through the “Hagamos Equipo por el Chocó” initiative. The supplies, which included food and essential items packed by over 200 volunteers, were flown from Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport in Barranquilla to José María Córdova International Airport in Medellín, with the support of the Hotel Dann Carlton Barranquilla serving as the central collection hub.

Upon arrival in Medellín, Cargando S.A.S. completed the logistics chain by managing overland transport from Antioquia to the department of Chocó. On the ground, the Jhon Arias Foundation, operating as a local partner with deep community ties, is leading the direct distribution of supplies to populations most affected by the recent earthquake emergency in Colombia.

This joint operation forms part of LATAM’s Avión Solidario (Solidarity Plane) program, a regional initiative that leverages the airline’s fleet, staff, and network capacity to respond to natural disasters and emergencies across South America. To date, the program has enabled the transport of 119 tons of humanitarian aid in response to the earthquake in Colombia, as the carrier continues to evaluate additional requests for assistance alongside strategic partners and authorities.
