JetSMART to Connect Lima and Punta Cana via Medellín Starting November 2026. JetSMART Perú has announced a new international travel option linking Lima (Peru) with Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) through a coordinated layover at Medellín’s José María Córdova International Airport. Launching in November 2026 with tickets currently on sale, the service expands the ultra-low-cost carrier’s presence in the Caribbean leisure market.

Flight Schedules & Capacity Expansion
✈ Lima–Medellín Sector: Flight times average 1.5 hours outbound and 2 hours on the return leg. To accommodate transfer demand, JetSMART will increase its Lima–Medellín route from 7 to 10 weekly frequencies during January and February 2027.
✈ Outbound Schedule (Lima–Punta Cana via MDE): Phased rollout featuring 2 weekly flights in November, expanding to 3 weekly in December and January, and returning to 2 weekly in February.
✈ Inbound Schedule (Punta Cana–Lima via MDE): Daily operations from launch day.

South American Network Expansion
Alongside Caribbean expansion, JetSMART is boosting its international network out of Lima. Effective December 14, 2026, the Lima–Buenos Aires route will scale up from 7 to 12 weekly flights. Additionally, the Lima–Santiago service will increase from 7 to 21 weekly frequencies during January and February 2027, enhancing onward transfer options to Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) via Santiago or Buenos Aires.
