LATAM Expands Multi-Orbit Wi-Fi Connectivity Across Its Fleet. LATAM Airlines Group will install multi-orbit satellite connectivity on more than 60 new Airbus and Embraer aircraft as part of a $25 million investment aimed at elevating the passenger experience. The technology will deliver faster, more stable internet speeds with broader coverage across Latin America regardless of the flight route.

Provided by SES, the multi-orbit system will be deployed on upcoming Airbus A320neo, A321XLR, and Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. By leveraging satellites across different orbital altitudes, the setup enhances network stability and eliminates coverage gaps. This agreement expands a nearly decade-long partnership between LATAM and SES, building on the 2Ku system already operating across more than 200 A320 family aircraft. Today, LATAM has over 250 connected aircraft, giving it the largest Wi-Fi-equipped fleet in the region.

The enhanced service also expands benefits for frequent flyers, offering LATAM Pass members free onboard Wi-Fi for messaging, browsing, and remote work. This connectivity integrates alongside the LATAM Play entertainment system, which offers over 2,000 hours of movies, TV shows, and music. Paulo Miranda, Chief Customer Officer of LATAM Airlines Group, noted that the investment reinforces the airline’s commitment to making digital technology a core element of the in-flight experience.
