GOL Increases Flights Between Rio de Janeiro and Lisbon to Five Weekly Frequencies. GOL Linhas Aéreas will expand its new non-stop route between Rio de Janeiro (GIG) and Lisbon (LIS) to five weekly frequencies starting November 24, 2026, adding an extra flight on Tuesdays. The transatlantic connection is scheduled to launch on September 16 with four weekly flights, marking a major milestone for the company as its first route between Brazil and Europe under its intercontinental expansion strategy using Airbus A330 aircraft.

The additional Tuesday service will allow travelers between Rio de Janeiro and Lisbon to choose between daytime and nighttime flight options. The expanded schedule will also benefit passengers originating from other cities across Brazil and international destinations who connect through Riogaleão (GIG), broadening connection choices to Portugal.
- ✈ Under the scheduled times, flights departing GIG will take off at 09:05 and arrive in Lisbon at 21:45.
- ✈ Return flights will leave LIS at 23:35, landing in Rio de Janeiro at 06:35 the following morning.
During Brazil‘s peak summer season, running from January 4 to February 7, 2027, GOL will adjust its operating hours while keeping the five weekly frequencies intact. Operations departing Rio de Janeiro will run on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, while return flights from Lisbon will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Through this capacity increase, GOL aims to strengthen air links between Brazil and Portugal while cementing its entry into the European long-haul market.
