Alaska Airlines Expands Operations from Seattle Paine Field in 2027. Alaska Airlines will significantly expand its flight operations from Seattle Paine Field throughout 2027, introducing a 50% increase in seat capacity alongside new non-stop flight options to key destinations across the West Coast of the United States.

As part of the expansion, the carrier will introduce a new route connecting Seattle/Everett (PAE) and San Jose, California (SJC). The service will launch on April 14, 2027, with two daily flights operated by Horizon Air using Embraer 175 aircraft. Tickets are already available for purchase.
In addition to the new link to San Jose, Alaska Airlines will boost frequencies on existing routes out of Paine Field. Flights to Los Angeles (LAX) will increase to two daily frequencies operated with larger Boeing 737 aircraft. The airline will also double its daily service to Portland (PDX) to two flights per day, improving connectivity across the Pacific Northwest, while expanding seat capacity on routes to San Diego (SAN) and San Francisco (SFO).

This growth will provide passengers in Snohomish County, North Seattle, and the broader Puget Sound region with expanded non-stop travel options from the airport north of Seattle. Andrew Harrison, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Alaska Airlines, highlighted that Paine Field remains a key component of the airline’s regional network, and this expansion will strengthen non-stop travel choices for business and leisure travelers heading to California, Oregon, and other western destinations.
