Wingo Projects Transporting Over 127,000 Passengers During Colombia’s School Recess Week. Wingo is preparing for one of the busiest travel periods of the year, projecting it will transport over 127,000 passengers between October 3 and 12 during Colombia‘s school recess week. This figure represents a 10% growth compared to the same period in 2025. To meet seasonal leisure and family travel demand, the airline is offering 136,500 seats across its domestic and international route network.

Throughout 2026, Wingo added nine new routes that will be operational during the holiday season. Out of Bucaramanga, the carrier launched direct flights to Medellín, Barranquilla, and Cartagena, while boosting frequencies to Santa Marta. From Medellín, the airline debuted direct international connections to Guatemala City and Montego Bay. Additionally, it introduced a new route linking Barranquilla with Aruba, while reactivating operations to Venezuela in September with routes connecting Bogotá and Medellín to Caracas, as well as Bogotá to Valencia.

“For this season, we project a 10% growth compared to last year,” stated Jorge Jiménez, Commercial and Planning Vice President at Wingo.
He noted that travelers can take advantage of the new 2026 route additions for short getaways, family visits, or discovering new destinations. Due to anticipated high passenger volumes, Wingo advises customers to complete free online check-in between 72 and three hours prior to departure, double-check fare conditions and baggage allowances, and verify entry requirements for international travel. The airline recommends arriving at the airport two hours early for domestic flights and three hours early for international departures.
