British Airways Converts London–San José into Year-Round Route Using Boeing 787-8. British Airways will expand operations on its route between London Heathrow and San José, Costa Rica, converting it into a year-round service starting March 28, 2027. The airline will maintain a schedule of three weekly flights during the European summer season, strengthening direct connectivity between the United Kingdom and Costa Rica.

The service will be operated using Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, one of the primary widebody models in British Airways‘ long-haul fleet.

The published flight schedule includes the following timetable:

• ✈ Flight BA233 will depart London Heathrow at 14:15, arriving in San José at 18:45 on the same day.
• ✈ In the return direction, flight BA232 will depart San José at 20:35, landing at London Heathrow at 13:45 the following day.

Throughout the summer 2027 season, flights are scheduled three times a week, operating on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays according to the carrier’s published timetable.

The decision to operate the route year-round marks a shift in scheduling between both cities, transitioning from a seasonal service to continuous operation. For Costa Rica, year-round connectivity maintains a direct link to one of Europe‘s major aviation hubs and provides seamless travel options to the United Kingdom and beyond via Heathrow.
