KLM to Offer Free High-Speed Starlink Wi-Fi Across Intercontinental Flights Starting 2027. Dutch flag carrier KLM has announced that it will offer free, high-speed Wi-Fi across its entire long-haul intercontinental fleet starting in mid-2027. Unveiled on October 9, 2026, to mark the airline’s 107th anniversary, the service will be available to passengers traveling in all cabin classes, providing unlimited, fast broadband internet connection on long-haul and transoceanic routes worldwide.

To power its next-generation inflight connectivity, KLM has partnered with Starlink, the satellite internet constellation operated by SpaceX. Operating from low-Earth orbit (LEO), Starlink delivers high-speed, low-latency connectivity across remote geographic areas, high-latitude corridors, and vast oceanic flight tracks where conventional geostationary satellite signals often experience lag or dropouts. The high-capacity bandwidth will allow passengers and crew to stream high-definition movies, play online games, listen to music, send emails, and browse social media seamlessly throughout the duration of the flight.

Access to the complimentary Wi-Fi service will be integrated into the carrier’s Flying Blue loyalty program. Members can connect directly by logging into their existing accounts upon boarding. Passengers who are not yet enrolled in Flying Blue will be able to sign up for free prior to departure or while in-flight using the onboard connectivity portal, immediately gaining access to free internet on all equipped aircraft.

Marjan Rintel, President and Chief Executive Officer of KLM, emphasized that introducing fast, free Wi-Fi on intercontinental flights fulfills one of the most long-standing customer requests while supporting the airline’s broader strategy to enhance the passenger digital experience. The long-haul connectivity expansion builds upon the carrier’s earlier initiative launched at the beginning of 2026, which introduced free high-speed Wi-Fi across most of its European narrowbody fleet, placing KLM among the pioneering European airlines providing zero-cost inflight internet access.
