Nuevas inversiones y modernización en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Ezeiza y Aeroparque para 2030-2031

Argentina Unveils Comprehensive Modernization Master Plans for Ezeiza and Aeroparque Airports by 2031. During an executive summit gathering commercial aviation leaders and aviation authorities, officials unveiled extensive modernization master plans for Argentina’s primary international and domestic gateways: Ministro Pistarini International Airport in Ezeiza (EZE) and Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP) in Buenos Aires. The long-term infrastructure program outlines targeted capital expenditure projects scheduled for phased completion between 2030 and 2031, structured to relieve capacity constraints and support long-term passenger traffic expansion across the South American nation.

At Ezeiza, development projects are specifically designed to eliminate persistent operational bottlenecks across international arrivals and processing areas. Planned investments encompass the expansion of border control and immigration halls, the introduction of automated high-capacity baggage handling systems, and the construction of an integrated domestic terminal concourse. This unified terminal concept aims to streamline passenger transfers between domestic connections and intercontinental long-haul services. On the airside, the airport’s runway and taxiway networks will undergo structural pavement rehabilitation alongside the installation of modern LED aeronautical ground lighting (AGL), eliminating operational penalties and enhancing all-weather reliability.

Simultaneously, Aeroparque Jorge Newbery will advance its airfield expansion program to maximize throughput within its constrained urban footprint along the Río de la Plata. Upgrades include adding both contact jet bridge gates and remote aircraft parking stands to alleviate apron congestion during high-density domestic banks. The terminal interior will also undergo extensive redevelopment, expanding pre-boarding holding areas to accommodate passenger waves, complemented by a modernized culinary and retail concession program launching in the coming months.

Despite broader macroeconomic headwinds and elevated global borrowing costs, airport executives expressed confidence in funding structures and project delivery timelines. The comprehensive overhaul of the capital’s dual-airport system emphasizes intermodal connectivity, stringent operational safety benchmarks, and refined passenger flows. By expanding airfield efficiency and terminal capacity, the multi-year program aims to provide Argentina with world-class aviation infrastructure capable of accommodating growing inbound tourism and expanding business travel networks.
