JetSMART Accelerates in Argentina: Will Surpass 800 Weekly Flights During Summer 2027. JetSMART is preparing one of the largest capacity increases in its history in Argentina for the 2027 summer season. The ultra-low-cost carrier projects surpassing 800 weekly flights, representing a frequency increase of over 30% and a 40% boost in seat capacity compared to the previous summer.

This growth will be supported by rapid fleet expansion. The company expects to reach 19 aircraft by December 2026 and exceed 20 aircraft during January 2027, adding extra seating capacity to meet seasonal demand. The expansion includes the deployment of Airbus A321neo aircraft configured for 240 passengers.
The capacity push began in September with new nonstop flights from Buenos Aires to Posadas, San Juan, and Santiago del Estero. These routes will be joined by Jujuy, set to launch on October 1. The strategy aims to enhance connectivity between Buenos Aires and regional destinations across Argentina while bolstering available seats during peak travel periods.

Growth will also extend across international markets. JetSMART will introduce flights from Buenos Aires to Porto Seguro and Maceió, strengthening its presence in Brazil, where it currently serves Rio de Janeiro, Florianopolis, Natal, and Recife. Additionally, the airline connects Mendoza with Rio de Janeiro, while offering direct services from Cordoba to Rio de Janeiro and Florianopolis. The regional network is rounded out by twice-daily service between Buenos Aires and Lima in Peru, as well as flights connecting Buenos Aires with Medellin, Colombia.
“Launching eight new routes in a single year, balancing the network between domestic and regional flights as well as connections, demonstrates the dynamism of our expansion plan,” stated Gonzalo Pérez Corral, Country Manager of JetSMART in Argentina.
Meanwhile, Federico Petazzi, Commercial Manager of JetSMART in Argentina, highlighted the goal of expanding air travel access through a tailored fare model. The growth in Argentina is part of JetSMART‘s broader regional expansion; the carrier currently operates over 90 routes across South America with a regional fleet of 56 Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 aircraft, aiming to exceed 100 aircraft by 2030.
