Avianca strengthens U.S.–Americas connectivity with new frequencies and key routes.Avianca announced its intention to enhance connectivity between the United States and the rest of the continent through a strategic expansion plan focused on increasing frequencies and consolidating key routes. Specifically, the airline plans to add an extra daily frequency on the Bogotá–Fort Lauderdale route, reaching two flights per day. In addition, service between Barranquilla and Miami would increase from three weekly flights to a daily operation. Meanwhile, the Medellín–Orlando route is expected to become a permanent daily service, reinforcing Avianca’s commitment to high-demand markets.

This growth aligns with the airline’s broader strategy to strengthen its global network, which currently connects North America with more than 80 destinations across the Americas and Europe. In this context, the expansion not only aims to boost tourism flows but also to support trade and economic exchange between key regions. Furthermore, Avianca already maintains a strong presence in the U.S., serving cities such as Boston, Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, and Las Vegas— the latter operating on a seasonal basis—offering passengers a wide range of connection options.

At the same time, this initiative enhances access for U.S.-based travelers to destinations across the Caribbean and South America through Avianca’s extensive network. However, the implementation of these new operations remains subject to regulatory approvals in each country.
