LATAM Moves Rio–Buenos Aires Flights to Aeroparque

LATAM Moves Rio–Buenos Aires Flights to Aeroparque.LATAM Airlines Brazil has announced a significant operational change on its international route between Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires, effective May 1, 2026. Specifically, the airline will discontinue its services at Ministro Pistarini International Airport (Ezeiza) and relocate all flights to Aeroparque Internacional Jorge Newbery. This decision is driven by the goal of improving passenger convenience, as Aeroparque’s proximity to downtown Buenos Aires reduces transfer times and enhances accessibility. The move is particularly relevant for corporate travelers, who prioritize efficiency and shorter travel times in their journeys.

At the same time, LATAM will maintain a daily operation with seven weekly frequencies, using Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 174 passengers. These planes are configured in two classes—premium economy and economy—allowing the airline to cater to different passenger segments. Furthermore, the flight schedule has been strategically designed to optimize connectivity. Flight LA8044 departs Rio de Janeiro at 13:45 and arrives in Buenos Aires at 17:00, while the return flight, LA8045, leaves at 14:55 and lands at 17:45. This timing facilitates smoother connections and strengthens the overall competitiveness of the service.

This adjustment comes amid intense competition on the Rio de Janeiro–Buenos Aires route, where several airlines are vying for market share. For May, monthly frequencies are expected to be led by Aerolíneas Argentinas with 180 flights, followed by GOL with 160, JetSMART with 120, Flybondi with 78, and LATAM with 62. In this context, the shift to Aeroparque represents a clear strategic move to differentiate its offering and capture greater demand. Ultimately, the decision not only enhances the passenger experience but also reinforces LATAM’s position in one of the most important air corridors in the region.
