Air Transat Launches New Routes to Gran Canaria and Panama for Winter 2026–2027.Air Transat, recently named the World’s Best Leisure Airline at the 2025 Skytrax World Airline Awards, has announced the addition of new destinations to its Winter 2026–2027 network. Beginning December 12, 2026, the airline will launch weekly nonstop flights to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from both Montreal and Toronto. The seasonal service will operate until April 4, 2027, with departures from Montreal on Saturdays and from Toronto on Sundays.

According to Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Transat, the new route responds to growing demand from travellers seeking destinations that combine warm weather, beaches, and European culture. With the addition of Gran Canaria, Air Transat continues to strengthen its presence in the Spanish market, where it already operates year-round services to Madrid, Málaga, Barcelona and Valencia. The airline noted that Valencia will continue operating throughout the winter season with one weekly Friday flight.

Air Transat also announced a new nonstop route from Quebec City to Rio Hato, further expanding its winter sun destination offerings. The service will operate once weekly on Sundays between December 20, 2026, and April 25, 2027. The airline stated that the new Panama route supports the diversification of its network from Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport and reflects continued strong travel demand from the region. Flights for the Winter 2026–2027 season are already available for booking, while additional network announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
