United to Launch Los Angeles–Fort Lauderdale Flights.United Airlines is expanding its domestic network with the launch of a new route between Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale for the 2026–2027 winter season. The new service will begin on October 25, 2026, initially operating five weekly flights using Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft. The addition strengthens connectivity between Southern California and South Florida, two of the largest leisure and business travel markets in the United States.

According to the published schedule, flight UA1338 will depart Los Angeles at 8:28 a.m. and arrive in Fort Lauderdale at 4:43 p.m. The return service, flight UA684, will leave Fort Lauderdale at 2:30 p.m. and land in Los Angeles at 5:30 p.m. During the initial phase, the route will operate five times per week, although United already plans to gradually increase frequencies in response to seasonal demand. Between December 17, 2026, and January 4, 2027, the airline will operate two daily flights during the peak holiday travel period.

Starting January 7, 2027, service will increase to 12 weekly flights, before reaching 14 weekly frequencies from March 9, 2027, effectively offering double-daily service between both cities. Through this expansion, United aims to capitalize on the strong passenger demand between California and Florida across both leisure and corporate travel segments. In addition, Fort Lauderdale continues to position itself as an attractive alternative to Miami, offering travelers convenient access to South Florida as well as connections to Caribbean and Latin American destinations.
