By the end of 2025, the European bloc had consolidated its position as the second-largest destination for Peruvian exports, recording a 24% increase. This growth highlights the positive impact of existing trade agreements and the sustained demand for Peruvian products in European markets. Europe also remains one of the main destinations for Peruvian students and professionals seeking academic and career opportunities abroad. The inauguration of the new Jorge Chávez International Airport further strengthens Peru’s role as a key regional connection point to some of the world’s leading economic, academic, and tourism centers.

In this context, Claudia Ruaro, Commercial Manager for Air France-KLM in Peru, stated that the country plays a significant role for the airline group in South America, not only because of its strong passenger traffic but also due to its ability to connect the Andean region with Europe. According to Ruaro, flights to France and the Netherlands are currently operating with load factors exceeding 90%. As international tourism, academic exchange, and foreign trade continue to grow, the connection between Peru and Europe is becoming an increasingly strategic bridge for fostering sustainable development, investment, and cooperation opportunities between both markets.
