According to Cathay Group Chief Executive Officer Ronald Lam, the investment will enable the company to provide greater connectivity through Hong Kong while expanding options for customers across international markets. He also highlighted that the A350F is a future-ready solution aligned with Cathay Cargo’s vision of becoming one of the world’s leading air freight operators. Airbus noted that Cathay’s continued confidence in the program reinforces the A350F’s position as a new benchmark for efficiency and performance in the global cargo sector.

The Airbus A350F has been designed to become one of the most advanced freighters in the market, offering a range of up to 8,700 kilometers and a payload capacity of 111 tonnes. The aircraft is powered by next-generation Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines, capable of reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions by up to 20% compared to previous-generation freighters. Built with more than 70% advanced materials, the A350F also benefits from commonality with the passenger A350 family and is fully compatible with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), supporting the aviation industry’s decarbonization goals.
