United Airlines has unveiled a new “Stars and Stripes” special livery to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, while also celebrating a major milestone in its Military Pilot Program. The patriotic livery will fly this summer on a Boeing 787-10 and a Boeing 737-800, both manufactured in the United States. Painted in Amarillo, Texas, the design features 50 stars representing the nation’s states and bold red-and-white diagonal stripes symbolizing America’s forward-looking spirit. Each aircraft will also carry a commemorative plaque honoring United employees who have served or continue to serve in the U.S. military. The unveiling ceremony took place at Washington Dulles International Airport and was attended by U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean P. Duffy, United CEO Scott Kirby, airline employees, veterans, and local dignitaries.
