Specifically, international passenger volume rose 6.6% year-over-year, while domestic traffic posted a modest 0.8% gain. This performance enabled Viva to sustain total passenger numbers despite reducing its domestic seat offer. The airline explained that it continued adjusting capacity in July as demand trends normalized following temporary shifts linked to the FIFA World Cup.
Overall capacity, measured in Available Seat Miles (ASMs), grew by just 0.3% year-over-year. Market dynamics varied significantly: domestic capacity contracted by 1%, whereas international capacity surged by 6.2%. Consequently, Viva reallocated more of its offering toward international routes, where passenger demand demonstrated greater strength.

As a result, the airline achieved a strong load factor of 88.5%, with domestic operations reaching 89.8% and international routes recording 82.7%. These metrics highlight efficient asset utilization and resilient consumer demand. Meanwhile, aircraft groundings linked to Pratt & Whitney engine inspections continue to restrict fleet capacity, prompting the carrier to prioritize operational reliability and disciplined capacity alignment in the coming months.
