Air Century to Add Its First CRJ200SF to Expand Caribbean Cargo Operations. Air Century has announced the upcoming addition of a CRJ200SF freighter to its fleet. The specially converted cargo aircraft will enable the Dominican carrier to expand its logistical capacity and tap into new regional business opportunities across the Caribbean and neighboring markets.

The aircraft, with reserved registration HI1139, will feature a payload capacity of up to 15,000 pounds and come equipped with a large cargo door and roller floor system to streamline containerized, palletized, and bulk cargo handling. Offering an operational range of approximately 1,300 nautical miles (2,400 kilometers), the CRJ200SF will provide enhanced operational flexibility across regional markets. The aircraft is part of a planned acquisition of two CRJ200 aircraft by the airline.
“The arrival of this first CRJ200 out of two acquired marks a strategic milestone for Air Century. It allows us to strengthen our cargo portfolio, meet emerging market demands, and explore business opportunities that complement our passenger operations,” stated Carlos Jiménez, Executive Vice President of Air Century.

He added that the fleet addition reflects the airline’s confidence in the potential of Dominican aviation and the Dominican Republic‘s role as a regional logistics hub. With nearly 35 years of continuous operations, Air Century has established itself as one of the longest-operating Dominican airlines, focusing primarily on regional connectivity. The entry into service of the CRJ200SF initiates a new growth phase for the airline by adding dedicated freighter capacity and diversifying its service offerings.
