GOL Begins Ticket Sales for Direct Flights Between Rio de Janeiro and New York. GOL Linhas Aéreas announced the start of ticket sales for its new nonstop international route between Rio de Janeiro and New York City for the 2027 season. The operation will connect RIOgaleão International Airport (GIG) with John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) using Airbus A330 aircraft, marking a new phase in the Brazilian airline’s intercontinental expansion strategy. Starting March 28, 2027, the route will operate with three weekly roundtrip frequencies.

The direct flights between Rio de Janeiro and New York will officially launch on July 8, 2026, coinciding with Brazil’s peak winter travel season. From Rio de Janeiro, flights will depart on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 9:55 p.m., arriving in New York at 6:55 a.m. the following day. The return service from the United States will operate on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 11:00 p.m., landing in Brazil at 9:55 a.m. This new operation will be managed through GOL Linhas Aéreas’ new international hub at RIOgaleão.

The new route strengthens the airline’s international strategy and expands connectivity options between South America and North America. In addition, thanks to its longstanding partnership with American Airlines, passengers will have access to multiple connecting destinations throughout the Americas.
