Air Europa Expands Summer 2026 Network With 9.3 Million Seats. Spanish carrier Air Europa is preparing for the 2026 summer season with a major increase in capacity across its network. Between June and September, the airline will offer nearly 9.3 million seats, representing a 5.9% increase compared to the same period last year. The expansion responds to strong tourism demand for travel between Europe, North Africa, and Latin America, supported by additional frequencies on key routes and the launch of new destinations.

June will mark the start of four year-round routes. On June 1, Air Europa will begin operations between Madrid and Oviedo, as well as Madrid and Seville, with 14 weekly frequencies on each route. Later in the month, the airline will launch flights to Geneva on June 19, also with 14 weekly services. On June 24, Air Europa will inaugurate its new Johannesburg route with three weekly flights, strengthening connectivity between South Africa and the Americas through the airline’s Madrid-Barajas hub. Seasonal destinations will also be added during the summer, including Tangier, Bologna, and Alghero.

In addition, Air Europa will increase frequencies to several international destinations. In the Dominican Republic, the airline will expand service to Santo Domingo to 11 weekly flights and Santiago de los Caballeros to three weekly flights. Frequencies to Marrakech, Tunis, Lanzarote, Guayaquil, Rome, and Milan will also rise during the summer period. The entire operation will be carried out using one of the industry’s most modern and fuel-efficient fleets, including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner for long-haul services and the Boeing 737 MAX for short- and medium-haul routes.
