The results reflect growing interest among passengers connecting through the Hub of the Americas® at Tocumen International Airport in extending their journey to experience Panama’s attractions at no additional airfare cost. Pedro Heilbron, Chief Executive Officer of Copa Airlines, said the airline’s extensive network has enabled thousands of connecting passengers to turn their layovers into opportunities to discover the country, contributing to both tourism growth and the Panamanian economy. During the first six months of the year, Argentina, the United States, and Ecuador were the program’s top source markets.

As part of efforts to further enhance the initiative, Copa Airlines recently increased the maximum stopover duration from seven to 15 days at no additional airfare. In addition, the airline inaugurated the Sala-a Panamá experience at Tocumen International Airport in late May, a dedicated space showcasing the country’s culture, biodiversity, and gastronomy, which has already welcomed more than 80,000 visitors.
