According to figures released by the Dominican Republic’s Civil Aviation Board (JAC), Arajet transported 922,593 passengers on flights to and from the Dominican Republic during the first six months of the year. When adding more than 100,000 passengers connecting through the airline’s hubs in Santo Domingo and Punta Cana, the total exceeds one million travelers.

The airline ranked as the third-largest carrier operating in the Dominican Republic, accounting for 8.4% of the country’s total international passenger traffic during the period. It also carried 92% of all passengers flying with Dominican-flag airlines, reaffirming its dominant position in the local market. Internationally, the United States remained Arajet’s largest market, followed by Colombia and Argentina.

Among its most popular routes, Buenos Aires recorded the highest passenger demand, followed by New York, Miami, Medellín, and Bogotá. These destinations reflect continued growth in tourism, business travel, and demand from the Dominican diaspora. The achievement comes as Arajet continues expanding its network by adding new destinations and increasing frequencies in strategic markets to boost connecting traffic. This strategy has strengthened Santo Domingo and Punta Cana as regional hubs while expanding the airline’s footprint across the Americas.

“Surpassing one million passengers is a historic milestone for both our company and Dominican aviation,” said Arajet Founder and CEO Víctor Pacheco Méndez.

He added that the airline will continue enhancing connectivity to and from the Dominican Republic while advancing its goal of establishing the country as one of the leading aviation hubs in Latin America and the Caribbean.
