American Airlines Adjusts Buenos Aires Operations with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.  American Airlines will implement a significant operational adjustment on its route between New York City and Buenos Aires during the first quarter of 2027. According to data from the Cirium system, the airline will begin operating the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on its daily flights between John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Ministro Pistarini International Airport in Ezeiza (EZE) starting March 4, 2027, replacing the Boeing 777-300ER currently used on the route.

With this change, American Airlines will rely on a more fuel-efficient aircraft optimized for long-haul operations. Although the Boeing 777-300ER offers greater passenger capacity, the Boeing 787-9 allows the airline to reduce operational costs while maintaining high standards of comfort and efficiency. Fleet adjustments of this type are part of the regular strategies used by international airlines to adapt capacity and performance according to market demand.

According to the schedule for the 2027 Northern Hemisphere summer season, flight AA953 will depart daily from New York JFK at 8:15 p.m. and arrive in Buenos Aires/Ezeiza the following day at 8:00 a.m. Meanwhile, flight AA954 will depart Buenos Aires at 9:10 p.m. and arrive in New York JFK the following day at 7:00 a.m., with all times listed in local time. American Airlines currently maintains a strong presence in Argentina with direct operations between the United States and Buenos Aires.
