The partnership will provide passengers with more travel options while strengthening the commercial ties between the two carriers and expanding their respective networks across Europe and Latin America.

Under the agreement, Aerolineas Argentinas will place its AR code on SAS-operated flights connecting Madrid and Rome with the Scandinavian capitals of Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Oslo. In return, SAS will add its SK code to Aerolineas Argentinas’ transatlantic services linking Buenos Aires with Madrid and Rome. The arrangement will allow travelers to purchase a single ticket for their entire journey, check in once, and have their baggage transferred directly to their final destination, creating a more seamless travel experience.

The partnership also extends to loyalty program benefits. As fellow SkyTeam members, both airlines will enable passengers to earn and redeem miles through Aerolineas Plus and EuroBonus, while eligible customers will enjoy SkyPriority services across flights operated by either carrier. Aerolineas Argentinas President Fabián Lombardo said the agreement will expand the airline’s international connectivity and provide travelers with new options to reach Northern Europe through a strategic partner such as SAS. Meanwhile, SAS Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Paul Verhagen described the deal as an important step in strengthening the airline’s global reach through trusted SkyTeam partners, creating attractive new travel opportunities between Scandinavia and South America. The implementation of the codeshare agreement is expected during the third quarter of 2026, subject to the necessary governmental approvals.
