The multi-flight operation originated in Colombia early Thursday morning. The first dedicated charter service departed El Dorado International Airport (BOG) in Bogotá at 5:20 AM, followed by the second departure taking off at 6:30 AM from José María Córdova International Airport (MDE) in Medellín. While cruising at 30,000 feet, travelers took part in high-altitude inflight entertainment organized by snack brand Takis. The flight destination remained undisclosed until pilots carried out their low-altitude final approach over Maho Beach, touching down on the runway at Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) at 9:18 AM and 10:14 AM local time, respectively.

Jorge Jiménez, Commercial Vice President at Wingo, noted that the initiative was designed to amplify the thrill of air travel through complete surprise, validating strong consumer demand for novel experiential tourism products. The selection of Sint Maarten / Saint-Martin supports the promotional banner “One Destination, Two Paradises”, highlighting the 87-square-kilometer island’s unique geopolitical status divided between the autonomous Dutch constituent country to the south and the French overseas collectivity to the north.
