Emirates Considers Launching Flights to Lima. Emirates is evaluating adding Lima to its South American network through a new Dubai-Milan-Lima route using fifth freedom rights. The proposal would allow the United Arab Emirates carrier to expand its presence in the region and directly connect Peru with Europe and the Middle East, though the operation remains subject to regulatory approvals.

The potential route would originate in Dubai, with a stopover in Milan before continuing to Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima. If finalized, Emirates could deploy widebody aircraft such as the Airbus A350-900 or the Boeing 777-300ER, a move that would strengthen Peru’s international connectivity and capture passenger traffic across South America, Europe, and the Middle East.

Adding Lima would mark Emirates’ entry into a new South American market, expanding its regional footprint beyond its existing destinations. The airline is assessing launching operations by late October, coinciding with the European winter season, though any firm start date and schedule will depend on regulatory clearances and operational planning.
