Grupo Abra activa un puente aéreo entre Bogotá y Armenia para trasladar más de 40 toneladas de ayuda humanitaria

Abra Group Operates Airbridge Between Bogotá and Armenia to Deliver Over 40 Tons of Humanitarian Aid. In response to the emergency affecting Colombia, Abra Group launched a humanitarian airbridge to transport essential supplies to the Eje Cafetero region. The joint operation, carried out by GOL and Avianca, completed two freighter flights between Bogotá and El Edén International Airport in Armenia using a Boeing 737 aircraft that arrived from São Paulo. By integrating the logistical capabilities of both carriers, the group accelerated the delivery of vital assistance to impacted communities.

The two flights successfully transported more than 40 tons of humanitarian aid, featuring contributions from the Food Bank Association of Colombia (ABACO), TAAP Foundation, the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá, and the National Army. The cargo included hygiene products, food, water, medical supplies, mattresses, cleaning kits, and pet food. Furthermore, the operation represented a major milestone for El Edén International Airport, as it was the first time a Boeing 737 freighter landed at the terminal, proving its capacity for large-scale cargo operations.

The mission highlighted the strategic value of integrating GOLLOG and Avianca Cargo during emergency scenarios. According to Abra Group, the joint effort reflects its commitment to placing its regional network and logistical capacity at the service of affected populations. These 40 tons add to the more than 300 tons of humanitarian aid previously mobilized by Avianca across Colombia, demonstrating how coordination between group members can overcome complex logistics challenges.
