Volaris Adds Two New Airbus NEO Aircraft to Support Expansion Strategy.Volaris has added two new Airbus NEO aircraft to its fleet as part of the airline’s modernization and operational growth strategy aimed at maintaining one of the youngest and most efficient fleets in Latin America. The newly delivered aircraft, identified as numbers 156 and 157 in the carrier’s fleet, include an Airbus A320NEO registered XA-TVH with seating for 186 passengers, and an Airbus A321NEO registered XA-VUZ with capacity for 239 passengers. Both aircraft were assembled at Airbus facilities in Mobile, Alabama, and reinforce the airline’s ongoing fleet renewal efforts.

The A320NEO has already entered service from Mexico City International Airport, while the A321NEO is expected to begin operations later this month. The aircraft will support new routes launching in June 2026, connecting Mexican cities such as Guadalajara, Puebla, and Querétaro with major destinations in the United States, including Los Angeles, Newark, and Houston. Through these additions, Volaris aims to strengthen its operational capacity and expand connectivity in key domestic and international markets.

Enrique Beltranena, president and CEO of Volaris, stated that the addition of the new NEO aircraft reflects the airline’s commitment to efficiency, sustainability, and an improved passenger experience. Currently, 66% of Volaris’ fleet consists of next-generation NEO aircraft, recognized for their lower fuel consumption and reduced environmental impact. The airline noted that these aircraft play a central role in its sustainability strategy while supporting continued network growth and stronger connectivity between Mexico and the United States.
