ITA Airways volverá a volar entre Roma y Caracas en marzo de 2027 con Airbus A330neo

ITA Airways to Restore Direct Flights Between Rome and Caracas in March 2027. Italian flag carrier ITA Airways has officially opened seat reservations for its scheduled nonstop service connecting Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) in Italy with Simón Bolívar International Airport in Caracas (CCS), Venezuela. Scheduled to inaugurate commercial operations on March 30, 2027, the transatlantic route will operate with three weekly frequencies, re-establishing a direct aviation bridge between Southern Europe and northern South America to serve corporate, leisure, and visiting friends and relatives (VFR) travel demand.

The intercontinental service will be operated by the airline’s fleet of widebody Airbus A330-900neo aircraft, delivering enhanced fuel efficiency, modern cabin architecture, and reduced environmental impact.

  • ✈ According to the published flight schedules, flight AZ690 will depart Rome at 11:00 AM and land in Caracas at 4:00 PM local time.
  • ✈ On the return sector, flight AZ691 is scheduled to depart from Caracas at 7:15 PM, touching down at Rome Fiumicino at 11:30 AM the following morning. The non-stop widebody operation provides seamless long-haul travel without intermediate technical stops.

The return of this route marks the revival of a historically significant corridor in Italian aviation. The former national carrier, Alitalia, operated flights between Rome and Caracas for decades before suspending the service in April 2015 amid foreign exchange repatriation issues. The planned return in March 2027 will mark the end of an absence lasting nearly 12 years by an Italian carrier in the Venezuelan market. The nonstop service represents an advantageous option for the sizeable Italian-Venezuelan diaspora living across both countries, removing the requirement to transit through intermediary hubs across the Americas or Europe.

The addition of Caracas supports ITA Airways‘ long-haul strategy across Latin America, complementing its established network footprint in South American cities such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires. Operating through the carrier’s primary global hub at Rome Fiumicino, connecting travelers from Venezuela will gain direct access to extensive onward flight links across Italy, continental Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East. Flight tickets are now live and open for booking across global distribution systems and through the airline’s official booking channels.
