JetBlue Launches ‘Blueprint II’ Special Livery on Airbus A220. JetBlue has officially launched scheduled operations featuring “Blueprint II,” a reimagined version of one of the airline’s most recognizable special liveries, now painted on a next-generation Airbus A220. The original Blueprint design debuted in 2017 on an Embraer E190 and quickly became a favorite among passengers, crewmembers and aviation enthusiasts due to its unique “see-through” concept that combined illustrations of everyday travel items with the aircraft’s mechanical structure.

The updated “Blueprint II” design preserves the creativity of the original while introducing bolder graphics, enhanced details and several hidden visual references spread throughout the aircraft. Among the most notable elements are the oversized teddy bear seated in its own passenger seat, a crown symbolizing London as JetBlue’s first European destination, and a sextant placed in the cockpit as a tribute to the history of navigation. In addition, the livery incorporates fins, snorkel gear and pool floats, representing the warm-weather leisure destinations that remain central to JetBlue’s network strategy.

According to Marty St. George, president of JetBlue, the airline’s special liveries serve as an extension of the company’s brand identity and customer experience. The introduction of “Blueprint II” also reflects JetBlue’s ongoing fleet modernization following the retirement of its Embraer E190 fleet in September 2025. With an all-Airbus fleet centered around the A220 and A320 families, JetBlue continues to use aircraft design as a creative tool to strengthen customer engagement and reinforce its distinctive image within the competitive airline industry.
